Born in Lyon in 1984 and self-taught, Jean Damien Badoux draws on his experience with high-performance composite materials for the aerospace industry, as well as his knowledge of manufacturing processes. This technical rigor allows him to approach form with precision, restraint, and freedom.
Handcrafted in his workshop north of Lyon, his works take the form of unique pieces, limited editions, or bespoke commissions.
After intuition and the first sketches come the drawings, followed by a reduced-scale model — an essential step in understanding the volumes, lines, and future presence of the work.
The full-scale piece then takes shape in the workshop, where the craftsmanship of fine woodworking meets the technical precision inherited from high-performance composite materials for the aerospace industry.
